Fix - Assorted Errors & Graphic Corruption
Jeff Gordon XS Racing throws a slew of errors at you at first.
Your reward for clicking through all these errors will probably be a little box that looks like this. Time to fix this mess.
dgVoodoo 2 is the tool of choice for this game.
Unzip the following three files to your Jeff Gordon XS Racing folder
dgVoodooSetup.exe,
ddraw.dll (this file is inside the "MS" folder in the zip)
D3DImm.dll (also inside the MS folder)
Run the dgVoodooSetup program. Once the configurator appears, you have to add your Jeff Gordon XS Racing directory to its' list. You can do this quickly by clicking the backslash icon on this screen (it's to the left of "Add" near the upper right corner). You should be looking at something similar to this:
There are many settings you can play with here, but you don't have to mess with any of them right now. Just press "apply" followed by "OK" and you should be done. If it worked, you will notice that a "dgvoodoo.conf" file has been added to your game folder.
Next, install this database patch. Unzip the files to any folder and run PatchInstall.bat. This will fix the remaining bugs that dgVoodoo won't take care of.
Now you can try launching the game again. Choose dgVoodoo as your display device when prompted.
